Limoncello is an Italian liqueur mainly produced in Southern Italy. Lucia’s keep her recepy by her local friends from Sorrento…
HERE THE RECEPY… LUCIA’S WAY
8-10 lemons: peel them taking only the yellow part of the skin.
Soak in 1 lt. of pure alcohol (90°) , in a glass jar and live it for 3 weeks.
Than prepare water (1,2 lt) and 400 gr. of sugar, stir well and boil for 5 min.
When the water and sugar blend is cold, add it to the filtered alcohol from the lemon skin (it will looks like paper!) . Place in bottle and keep in a cool and dark place for 1 or 2 months (if you can resist) and it is ready!
The lemons must be organic, of course……
Limoncello should be served chilled as an after-dinner
